SRV Lesson 2 Transcript

We will now begin to discuss the things that need to be done in advance of beginning a remote viewing session. The single most important step that's needed to obtain profound remote viewing experiences is a deeply settled mind. Since a settled mind is so essential to deep target penetration, the practice of scientific remote viewing begins with a procedure that helps to settle the mind in an appropriate fashion. This practice is called the Scientific Remote Viewing Consciousness Settling Procedure, or CSP, and it's composed of a few simple techniques that are commonly practiced in a number of meditation traditions. CSP must be done immediately prior to each SRV session by both the viewer and the monitor. CSP takes approximately 15 minutes in total, and in Type 4 and Type 5 settings, the monitors and the viewers need to communicate 15 minutes before each session in order to coordinate the precise timing of the beginning of the remote viewing session. Now here are the steps for the Consciousness Settling Procedure. I'll first review the steps, and then we will practice it together. Sit comfortably in silence with the eyes closed for 30 seconds. Then, you perform a brief body massage that lasts about one minute. It is done with all of the clothes on, except for the shoes, so you can remove your shoes right before beginning CSP. Now some meditation traditions recommend that the massage be executed slightly differently for men and women, and I generally follow these recommendations here. The massage begins by gently pressing the hands against the face, then upward on top of the head, back down the neck, and toward the heart. All of the massage elements move toward and finish at the heart. Then men continue by gently using the left hand to press and massage first the right hand, and then up the arm, and back down toward the heart. Again this is all done with the left hand. Women do the same, but they begin by massaging the left hand and arm, again back toward the heart, all with the right hand. Then both men and women switch arms and massage the other hand and arm, again always back toward the heart. Then men continue by massaging the right foot and leg upward toward the heart, and this is done with both hands pressing gently against the leg. The massage then moves to the left foot and leg, again upward toward the heart. Women do the same, but they begin with the left foot and leg, pressing gently upward toward the heart, before repeating the entire process for the right foot and leg. This is best done with the eyes closed. Again, the total time for the massage is about one minute. The next step in CSP is a breathing technique called pranayama. There is both fast and slow pranayama. In the version of pranayama that we will be using here, we will be performing slow pranayama only. We will perform nine to ten minutes of slow pranayama. This is done using normal breaths, not short ones and not long ones. And you close one nostril at a time after each outward and inward breath. Now you have to be sure to complete both the outward and the inward breath before switching nostrils. On the exhaling breath, you let your breath flow out naturally without forcing it. The inhaling breath should take about half the time as the exhaling breath. You hold your breath after inhaling for a very brief moment, about a second or two, while alternately closing the other nostril with the other finger and prepare to exhale. The entire procedure should be effortless and gentle. And if you feel the need for more air, simply take deeper breaths, but do not hyperventilate. You should be breathing normally, just alternating nostrils after exhaling and inhaling. And this is best done with the eyes closed. I will explain pranayama in more detail in a moment after I finish describing the last two stages of CSP. In the next stage of CSP, you sit quietly and comfortably for about five minutes with the eyes closed. Then you open your eyes and begin the SRV session. To review the steps of CSP once more, first you sit comfortably in silence with the eyes closed for about 30 seconds. Then you perform a brief one-minute body massage. Then you perform pranayama, the breathing technique, for nine to ten minutes. Then you sit quietly and comfortably for five minutes with the eyes closed. And then you open your eyes and immediately begin the SRV session. Let's review the steps of pranayama in more detail, since that's the one element of CSP that needs a little bit more explanation. Men use the right hand for CSP, while women use the left hand for CSP. Beginning with the right hand for men, you take the thumb of the right hand and close the right nostril. And you breathe out with the left nostril, then breathe in with the left nostril again. And then you open the right nostril and close the left nostril with the middle finger of the right hand. So you're switching nostrils. And then you breathe out with the right nostril and in with the right nostril. Then you repeat the procedure, switching nostrils again, breathing out of one nostril, then in with that same nostril, switching nostrils, breathing out with that nostril, breathing in with the same nostril, switching nostrils, and each time closing the other nostril with either the thumb or the middle finger of the right hand. Women do the exact same procedure, except they use the left hand and the thumb of the left hand to start with, to close the left nostril, breathe out with the right nostril, and in with the right nostril. Then open the left nostril and close the right nostril with the middle finger of the left hand. Breathe out using the left nostril, in with the left nostril, switching nostrils again by opening the right nostril and then closing with the thumb of the left hand, the left So you're breathing normally. You're not breathing fast. You're not breathing slow. You're taking normal breaths. So you should be feeling very relaxed and very much at ease. There should be no quick breathing or no very long breathing, just normal breaths. This procedure of alternating the breathing from one nostril to the other, breathing out with one nostril and then in with the same nostril, and then out with the other nostril and then in with the same nostril, it produces a very deeply settled feeling. It is a controlled breathing technique that has been used for centuries to settle the mind. At this point, we want to do together an entire consciousness settling procedure so that you may practice it with me now. Thus, position yourself in a comfortable chair, sitting normally. Now, close your eyes as you continue to listen to my voice for about 30 seconds. Again, let the lesson continue with the player. I will continue to guide you through the entire CSP. Now, we are going to perform the brief body massage. Begin by taking your hands and placing them over your face, pushing gently, massaging the face, and then move your hands upward on top of the head, pressing down on the hair, back down the neck, and then move the hands towards the front of the chest and down toward the heart. Now, for men, take your left hand and gently press and massage the right hand, and then move the left hand up the right arm as you're pressing and gently massaging, very gently, the right arm, move all the way up toward the heart. For women, do the same thing, but with the left hand, meaning you take your right hand and you massage your left hand, and then you move the right hand up the arm, up your left arm, up towards your left shoulder, and then the right hand moves towards the heart. And then, men and women, you switch arms. So, the men take their right hand and massage the left arm, and women take your left hand and massage your right arm. Again, push gently the arm with the hand all the way up towards the shoulder and towards the front of the chest and down toward the heart. Now, we are going to begin by having men massage the right foot with both hands, moving both hands, gently massaging the right leg upward towards the trunk of the body, and then towards the front of the chest to the heart. The women start by taking both hands and massaging the left foot, moving up the left leg, up towards the trunk of the body and the front of the chest towards the heart. Now, we switch legs. So, men begin massaging their left leg, beginning with their left foot, moving up the left leg, gently pressing up towards the heart. And women massage the right foot and leg, gently pressing the leg up, gently massaging up towards the heart. All right? Now, this is best done with the eyes closed, but it's all right in the very beginning if you do it with the eyes open just to see where you're going and what you're doing. But when you get to understand it, try to remember to do it with the eyes closed. All right. Now, we are going to begin pranayama. Pranayama is the breathing technique. And with the men, take your right hand and the right thumb and close the right nostril. The women take your left hand and the left thumb and close the left nostril, always leaving the other nostril open. And now, with one nostril closed and one nostril open, we breathe out, gently and easily, a normal breath. Let us first practice the basic finger movement. First, breathe out. Breathe in. Breathe in a little more quickly than you're breathing out. Hold the breath for a very brief second, then switch. Put the middle finger to close the other nostril while you're opening up the first nostril. So, now men will be opening up the right nostril and closing the left nostril, where women will be opening up the left nostril while closing the right nostril. Okay. Now, let's begin again. Take a nice breath before we begin. Feel relaxed. And now, men take the right hand, the right thumb, close the right nostril, breathe out. And women do the same thing, but with the left hand and the left thumb, closing the left nostril. All right. Now, together, breathe out. Breathe in. Now, switch nostrils, closing the other nostril and opening the first. Breathe out. Breathe in through that same nostril. Now, close the other nostril and open the other nostril. So, switch nostrils. Breathe out. Breathe in. Again, you're switching between the thumb and the middle fingers. Now, switch to the other nostril. Breathe out. Breathe in. Now, let us continue to do this at your own pace, breathing normally. Outward with one nostril, in with that same nostril, then switching to the other nostril. Outward with that one nostril and inward with that same nostril, then switching to the other nostrils after each outward and inward breath. Continue to do that now. And again, let the lesson continue to play while you do this. Continue to breathe normally, breathing out one nostril and in that same nostril, and then switching nostrils, breathing out one nostril and in that same nostril. Again, you're going to be breathing in a little faster than breathing out. Breathing out is a little slower process than breathing in normally. I will time you with this lesson. Just continue breathing normally, out and then in, using your own pace. Again, breathe normally, just switching nostrils. As you continue to breathe pranayama, you should begin to be feeling yourself relax as you settle into your chair comfortably. Again, let the lesson continue to play while I time you. Continue pranayama for one more minute. Breathing outward and inward, then switching nostrils. All right, now we are finished with pranayama. You can just put your arms down on your laps, sit very comfortably, and now we are simply going to close our eyes and sit comfortably for five minutes. If the mind wanders or experiences any thoughts, do not worry about it. The best rule of thumb is do not mind what happens. Just sit quietly and comfortably for five minutes. Let the lesson continue to play while I time you. You can begin to open your eyes slowly, gently. When you are ready, proceed to the next lesson.
